Library(Central & Departmental)

The College Library is equipped with valuable books, both reference and textbooks. The library has many rare books, journals arid periodicals especially meant for under graduate and post graduate students. In addition to the Central Library, there is a fairly well-stocked library in each department.

READING ROOM :

The College has a spacious & well-furnished Reading Room ideally suited to sound environs of reading newspapers (both in Assamese and in English), books, journals etc.

LIBRARY HOURS:

Office will remain open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on all working days. * Books will be issued from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on all working days.

CONDITION OF LOAN TO STUDENTS :

* Library Cards are issued at the time of admission.
* 2 (Two) nos. of cards in the case of general students and 3 (three) nos. of cards will be issued to the students offering major courses. A student can keep a book borrowed from the college library for a maximum period of 15 days from the date of issue. If he/she fails to return the book within the time, a fine of 10 paisa per day thereafter will be imposed.

CONDITIONS OF LOAN TO THE TEACHING AND NON-TEACHING STAFF:
  1. A member of the teaching staff will be entitled to borrow 15 (fifteen) books at a time for a session and is required to return the books on or before 15th May every year.
  2. A member of the Non-Teaching staff is entitled to borrow 5 (five) books at a time for a session and is required to return the books on or before 15th May every year. The decision of the Principal/Librarian in respect of fines and other related matters of college library is final and bound.

BOOK BANK:

In addition to library facilities, a unique measure has been adopted for lending books to the poor, meritorious, SC, ST and OBC students of the college from a special Book Bank.
